Our programs
BioFertilizers and Biopesticides
At Eden Indigenous Seed Farms, we train communities to make, apply, and commercialize biofertilizers and biopesticides. This program reduces reliance on chemical inputs, improves soil health, protects crops naturally, and creates new income opportunities through local production and sales.
Why it matters.
Healthy soils and resilient crops are the foundation of food security. Biofertilizers enrich the soil with beneficial microorganisms, while biopesticides provide natural protection against pests and diseases. Together, they:
- Restore soil fertility and biodiversity
- Reduce chemical residues in food
- Lower farming costs for smallholders
- Create eco-friendly products for local markets
Our Services
We provide hands-on training and support to farmer groups and communities:
Preparation and Production
Biofertilizers: Made from compost, manure, crop residues, and microbial cultures.
Biopesticides: Derived from plants like neem, chili, and garlic, or microbial agents.
Workshops: Step by step guidance on mixing, fermenting, and preparing safe formulations.
Application in Farms
Soil enrichment: Applying biofertilizers to boost nutrient uptake and soil structure.
Pest management: Spraying biopesticides to protect crops without harming pollinators.
Demonstration plots: Practical training on dosage, timing, and integration with traditional practices
Our impact
Reduced cost of production
Farmers save by accessing affordable fertilizers made using locally available materials.
Improved yields
Biofertilizers enhance soil fertility for healthier crops.
Safer food
Biopesticides reduce harmful residues.
Income generation
Communities earn by selling packaged products.
